After the holidays have passed, winter can become as cold and damp as it is miserable and gloomy for many people. They may feel blue and inactive. One way to add some warmth, pleasure and atmosphere is through the use of essential oils, aromatherapy, and turning on your diffuser. Imagine your house is filled with the pleasant smell of plants and flowers, how comfy it would be to be a homebody.

Winter aromatherapy is not strictly about pleasant scents, as well.  There are many reasons why aromatherapy can be very helpful in winter, from providing medicinal benefits to counteracting the dry air. A number of body issues can be eased by essential oils, although it is hard to believe, essential oils can definitely bring the magical healing.

The most effective and arguably easiest way to use essential oils and aromatherapy is using a diffuser. A diffuser uses means to create vapor from an essential oil. This both adds scent and moisture to the air. Placing an essential oil humidifier both at home and in the offices can add the spice into life. Diffusers are good-looking and designed for a combination with essential oils.

In winter, the air is notoriously dry. The dryness can irritate respiratory conditions, intensity cold symptoms, and more. Add to that using heat pumps, heaters, and fireplaces, and these components only further dry out the skin. Especially after a night’s sleep, you find yourself waking up with a dry throat and nose. The uncomfortable feeling has an impact on the whole day’s mood.

Must-have essential oils for winter can make living through the cold months so much easier. Common essential oils chosen for winter include peppermint, lemon, lavender, and cinnamon cassia bark. They definitely come with different smells, and at the same time, they can be a perfect cure for designed diseases.

Adding these essential oils to your diffuser, within minutes, you can spruce up a home or office setting. Different essential oils have different medicinal purposes as well. For example, peppermint’s used as a tool to focus whereas lavender is an insomnia treatment. Ask yourself, what purpose will your essential oil diffuser be used – it doesn’t hurt to have a couple oils to pull from.

Cozy winter diffuser blends can be created at home with different oils, depending on what you like. You don’t want to use too much essential oil as that can prove to have negative effects. Once you get the ratios right though, diffusing a blend or a single essential oil can purify the air and combat harmful bacteria in a big way. This is great news for your wintertime living as the air does not have the same opportunity to circulate as it does in summer when the windows are open.
