09 Aug An acupuncture point for perennial youth- San Yin Jiao (SP 6)
三阴交- It is one of the ten most important acupuncture points. It is sometimes called gynecology point which means it is most often used for Gynecological diseases. It could be used for menstrual flow, abnormal vaginal discharge, menstrual disorders, premenstrual syndrome, menopausal syndrome etc..
SP 6 is also the cross point of kidney channel of foot meridian (足少阴肾经), spleen channel of foot meridian (足太阴脾经) and liver channel of foot meridian (足厥阴肝经). Therefore, it could be used for many problems other than gynecological diseases. It could be used for strengthening spleen, enrich the blood, calm the nerves, improve sleep quality and all other kinds of health problems. It is an excellent acupuncture point for health.
The meaning of San Yin Jiao: San Yin means the three meridians we mentioned before, kidney channel, spleen channel and liver channel. Jiao means it is the intersection of the meridians. Three different meridians come across at this acupuncture point. Different kinds of Qi will encounter, liver channel will provide wet moist Qi, spleen channel will provide hot moist Qi, and kidney channel will provide cold Qi.

Using moxa rolls or sticks with indirect moxibustion or hanging moxibustion over San Yin Jiao
3 cun directly above the tip of the medial malleolus on the posterior border of the tibia.
